Former General Secretary of the New Patriotic Party (NPP), John Boadu, has secured the first position on the ballot paper for the party’s upcoming National Chairmanship election.
Boadu emerged first during the balloting exercise held ahead of the NPP’s national executive elections, scheduled for October 3, 2026.
Former NPP National Organiser Sammy Crabbe followed in second place, while former National Chairman Paul Afoko picked the third position.
Former Energy Minister Boakye Agyarko will appear fourth on the ballot paper.
The ballot positions are expected to determine the order in which the four candidates will appear when delegates vote to elect the party’s next National Chairman.
The chairmanship contest is among the key races in the NPP’s upcoming national executive elections, as the candidates seek the support of delegates ahead of the polls.
Campaigns are expected to intensify in the coming weeks, with the contenders making their case on issues including party unity, grassroots mobilisation, organisational development and efforts to strengthen the NPP ahead of future elections.
The October 3 election will form part of the process to select a new team of national executives to lead the party and oversee its activities in the next phase of its political operations.
