Policy Analyst Peter Tekper has raised concerns over the detrimental effects of political interference on Ghana’s colleges of education, warning that it has significantly hindered their development.
He emphasized the urgent need for a structured policy framework to govern these institutions, particularly regarding allowances. According to Tekper, the absence of a solid framework has allowed successive governments to implement inconsistent policies, disrupting progress.
Speaking on ABC in the Morning, he stressed that without addressing the foundational issues, the true value of these colleges will never be fully realized.
His remarks come amid ongoing debates over the sustainability of allowances paid to staff at these institutions.
