Phillip Appiah Kubi, popularly known as Roman Fada of the Ghana Freedom Party (GFP), has been disqualified from contesting in the upcoming presidential elections.
The Electoral Commission cited numerous errors and illegalities on his nomination forms as reasons for the disqualification.
Reports indicates that the commission emphasized its adherence to electoral regulations, stating that these issues were significant enough to bar Roman Fada from the race.
The Electoral Commission also confirmed that ballot positions would remain unchanged.
Chairperson Jean Mensa, addressing the press on November 12, stated, “Votes for Madam Akua Donkor will be annulled,” referencing the late party leader who passed away on October 28 at Ridge Hospital, Accra.
Roman Fada, who was previously the vice-presidential candidate under Madam Akua Donkor, had hoped to lead the party following her demise.
