President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo has named Herbert Krapa as Ghana’s substantive Minister for Energy, with the appointment taking effect on Tuesday, November 19, 2024.
Mr. Krapa succeeds the former Minister, who is now the running mate for the New Patriotic Party in the upcoming December general elections.
Mr. Krapa has been serving as Minister of State at the Ministry of Energy since July 15, 2024, a period during which he demonstrated diligence, professionalism, and unwavering commitment, according to President Akufo-Addo.
The President credited Mr. Krapa’s efforts with significantly contributing to the progress and stability of the energy sector, making him a strong candidate for the role.
In a statement issued by Eugene Arhin, Director of Communications at Jubilee House, the President commended Mr. Krapa’s leadership and expressed confidence in his ability to excel in the position.
The appointment, the President emphasized, is expected to drive continued transformation and growth in the energy sector, benefiting the nation and its development agenda.
