President John Dramani Mahama has appointed Dr. Sofo Tanko Rashid Computer as the Acting Chief Executive Officer (CEO) of the Ghana Investment Fund for Electronic Communication (GIFEC).
Dr. Computer, who confirmed his appointment, stated that he would officially assume office on Friday, February 14, 2025.
His appointment is expected to bring significant expertise in governance, technology, and public administration to GIFEC, reinforcing the agency’s mandate to bridge the digital divide in Ghana.
Dr. Computer has an extensive background in public service, previously serving as the Deputy National Director of Elections and Information Technology for the National Democratic Congress (NDC).
He also held key roles as Northern Regional Director of the Youth Employment Agency (YEA) and Regional Manager of the National Health Insurance Authority (NHIA).
In addition to his administrative career, he has contributed to academia as a lecturer at Tamale College of Education, Tamale Technical University, and Bimbilla Senior High School.
His academic credentials include a PhD in Public Administration, MSc degrees in Criminal Justice and Public Administration, and an ongoing LLB degree.
