Nana Kwasi Boatey Esq., Managing Director of Ghana Publishing Company Limited (GPCL), has announced the introduction of a newly enhanced gazette embedded with advanced security features, describing it as a game changer in the fight against forgery.
He made this revelation at the opening of a two-day workshop on sustainable access to law in Accra, organised by the Ghana Legal Information Institute (GhaLII) in partnership with GIZ.
Addressing participants, Boatey highlighted forgery as GPCL’s biggest challenge in managing gazette publications.
However, he expressed confidence that the upgraded version, which includes multiple embedded security features, will significantly curb the growing threat.
“GPCL’s all-new gazette with highly enhanced security features, among other embedded features, is the game-changer to curb the phenomenon,” he stated.
Despite these challenges, Boatey reaffirmed GPCL’s dedication to making legal materials open and free via GhaLII’s digital platform.
The event brought together leading legal figures and policymakers, all advocating for stronger measures to improve public access to legal information, preserve document integrity, and promote transparency in Ghana’s justice system.
