The Ghana Education Service (GES) has released funds to all Senior High Schools (SHSs) and Senior High Technical Schools (SHTSs) across the country to fully cover the cost of the 2025 West African Senior School Certificate Examination (WASSCE) practicals.
The announcement was made in a statement issued on Saturday, July 27, and signed by Daniel Fenyi, Head of Public Relations at GES.
According to the statement, the funds are aimed at ensuring that schools are adequately resourced with all materials and logistics needed for the smooth conduct of the science, technical, and vocational practical components of the examination.
These practicals are scheduled to commence in the coming weeks and are a critical part of the final assessments for candidates.
GES emphasized that the move reflects government’s commitment to easing the financial burden on parents and enabling students to concentrate on their academic work.
It also urged regional, district, and school authorities to strictly use the funds for their intended purposes, warning that management will monitor utilisation closely to ensure compliance, accountability, and the integrity of the examination process.
