Investigative journalist Manasseh Azure Awuni has fired back at Paul Adom-Otchere over comments made during a recent broadcast of Good Evening Ghana, challenging the former Ghana Airports Company Limited (GACL) board chair’s narrative on a controversial contract under investigation.
In a detailed public statement, Manasseh accused Adom-Otchere of contradicting himself regarding his knowledge of the company at the center of the GACL deal, stating that he had admitted on two separate occasions to knowing the owners — a fact that was downplayed on live television.
Manasseh also noted that Adom-Otchere, despite earlier promises, had failed to respond to outstanding questions relating to the ongoing investigation. “Several questions remain unanswered,” he said, hinting at the release of a full investigative piece that would provide clarity with supporting evidence.
Manasseh took particular issue with Adom-Otchere’s claim that the contract did not involve direct payments, arguing that the assertion was misleading and failed to reflect the full financial implications of the deal.
This public exchange comes in the wake of Paul Adom-Otchere’s appearance before the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP) on July 31, 2025.
The OSP, in a letter dated July 25, identified him as a suspect in an ongoing probe into suspected corruption and corruption-related offences in the award of a GACL contract to a private firm.
On his show, Adom-Otchere maintained his innocence and accused Manasseh of stirring public suspicion with what he labeled as “biased and misleading” commentary.
But Manasseh’s response signals a deepening rift between the two media figures, with the journalist making it clear that more revelations are on the way.
His statement not only disputes Adom-Otchere’s televised defence but suggests that inconsistencies in his account will be central to an upcoming exposé.
As scrutiny intensifies around the GACL deal, public attention is likely to remain fixed on both the findings of the Special Prosecutor and the unfolding media clash between the broadcaster and the investigative journalist.
