The Association of Corporate Treasurers of Ghana (ACTG) has called on the nation to take inspiration from the remarkable legacies of the eight distinguished individuals who lost their lives in the tragic military helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025.

In a statement, the association described the deceased as “heroes” whose commitment to service, integrity, innovation, and national unity should guide the country’s future.

The ACTG paid solemn tribute to Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah, Minister for Defence; Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed, Minister for Environment, Science, Technology & Innovation; Alhaji Muniru Mohammed, Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator and former Minister for Food and Agriculture; Dr. Samuel Sarpong, Vice Chairman of the NDC and former Ashanti Regional Minister; Samuel Aboagye, former NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East; Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala, Ghana Air Force; Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu, Ghana Air Force; and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah, Ghana Air Force.

“These individuals served our nation with courage, vision, and unwavering dedication,” the statement read, adding that their sacrifice leaves an indelible mark on Ghana’s history.

The ACTG expressed unity with the bereaved families, colleagues, and the entire nation in mourning, while urging all Ghanaians to uphold the values the fallen heroes stood for.

The statement was signed by Dr. Peter Kwesi Terkper, President of the ACTG.

It is with profound sorrow that we mourn the loss of the eight heroes who perished in the military helicopter crash on Wednesday, August 6, 2025, while in service of their nation.

We solemnly pay tribute to Dr. Edward Kofi Omane Boamah (Minister for Defence), Dr. Ibrahim Murtala Muhammed (Minister for Environment, Science, Technology & Innovation), Alhaji Muniru Mohammed (Acting Deputy National Security Coordinator & former Minister for Food and Agriculture), Dr. Samuel Sarpong (Vice Chairman of the NDC & former Ashanti Regional Minister), Samuel Aboagye (former NDC Parliamentary Candidate for Obuasi East), Squadron Leader Peter Bafemi Anala (Ghana Air Force), Flying Officer Manin Twum-Ampadu (Ghana Air Force), and Sergeant Ernest Addo Mensah (Ghana Air Force).

We stand in unity with their families, colleagues, and the entire Ghanaian community during this time of grief. May their legacies inspire us to uphold the values they stood for: service, integrity, innovation, and national unity.
