The National Petroleum Authority (NPA) has moved to calm public anxiety over possible fuel shortages, assuring Ghanaians that the country has sufficient petroleum products to meet demand.
The reassurance follows public discussions and speculation about how developments in the global energy market could affect fuel supply and pricing locally.
According to the Authority, assessments conducted with sector stakeholders show that the national fuel supply chain remains stable and capable of meeting both current and anticipated consumption levels.
Officials explained that a review of petroleum stock levels confirmed the availability of key products including petrol, diesel, aviation turbine kerosene and liquefied petroleum gas across the country.
The NPA said the exercise was carried out in collaboration with the Ministry of Energy and Green Transition as well as other industry players involved in the importation, distribution and storage of petroleum products.
Authorities noted that ongoing monitoring systems have been put in place to track stock levels and ensure that supplies are replenished in time to avoid disruptions.
The government is also working closely with international oil trading companies and bulk importers to maintain steady product inflows, while coordination with BOST Energies and local refineries continues to support storage and distribution activities nationwide.
In addition to supply monitoring, the Authority indicated that mechanisms are being strengthened to track price movements in the global petroleum market. These measures are intended to help mitigate any potential supply shocks or price volatility that could arise from international developments.
The NPA therefore encouraged the public to remain calm and avoid panic buying, stressing that the fuel distribution system is functioning normally.
