Gospel musician Agnes Pratt has officially launched her latest single, “Ascribe,” at the 2026 edition of Hello God held at the Mega Church at Atonsu Dompoase in Kumasi.
The programme brought together worshippers, gospel music lovers and performers for an afternoon of praise, worship and thanksgiving under the theme “Shackles Off, Praise On!”, inspired by Psalm 34:1.
The launch of “Ascribe” was one of the major highlights of the programme giving Agnes Pratt the opportunity to present the song to the public and share the inspiration behind it.
According to Agnes Pratt, the song was birthed from a spiritual experience she had during a church rehearsal.
“I was singing in church one day for rehearsal. That is where I got the direction from the Holy Spirit,” she said.
She explained that Hello God had been running for more than six years and that she had also spent time praying about the programme and its direction.
For her, the message behind “Ascribe” is closely linked to thanksgiving and giving glory to God.
“‘Ascribe’ is just giving thanks to God and if God has broken shackles, we have to praise Him,” Agnes Pratt said.
She acknowledged the difference between the title of the song and the programme’s theme but said both ultimately point towards praising and acknowledging God for what He has done.
The event featured performances from Agnes Pratt, celebrated gospel musician Joe Mettle, Kofi Owusu Peprah, Anointed Voices (TMC-Esereso), Atonsu Choir and Peculiar People, among other gospel acts.
The various performances added to the worship atmosphere as the congregation joined in praise and thanksgiving.
Gospel personality Papa Dave was also among the personalities associated with the programme.
Entertainment personality Adom Kiki, who was present at the programme, described the impact of the event in positive terms.
“Lives were touched. Miracles happened,” he said.
Adom Kiki also expressed the hope that Hello God would continue in the years ahead and grow into a lasting programme.
“I pray this event comes to stay and in the subsequent years, God will keep blessing this event and lifting lives up where they belong,” he added.
The launch of “Ascribe” adds to Agnes Pratt’s growing gospel music catalogue.
Earlier in 2026, she released “The Blood Medley,” a project featuring Kofi Owusu Peprah and comprising four gospel renditions: The Blood Will Never Lose Its Power, Jesus Keep Me Near the Cross, The Old Rugged Cross and Amazing Grace.
Her catalogue also includes the 2024 single “Jesus Overdo.”
Looking ahead, Agnes Pratt said her fans should expect more music and greater things from her ministry.
“My fans, they should expect nothing but more of fire and big things coming their way,” she said.
For the organisers and participants, Hello God 2026 was not only an opportunity for collective worship but also a platform for Agnes Pratt to formally introduce “Ascribe” to the public.
With its emphasis on thanksgiving and praise, the song fits naturally into the message of “Shackles Off, Praise On!”, reminding worshippers to continue giving God praise for His faithfulness.
The programme was hosted by Bernard Adusei Poku popularly known as Nana Poku, who served as Master of Ceremony.
