The Volta Regional 2024 Presidential and Parliamentary Campaign teams have been officially inaugurated, with a rallying call for hard work and unity to once again make the region a significant player in the December 7 polls. This comes after the region’s notable performance in the 2020 elections, including securing the Hohoe Constituency seat and garnering over 100,000 votes.
Henry Nana Boakye, the Team Leader of the National Campaign Coordinating Committee, emphasized the importance of resolute action from all committees, spanning regional, constituency, electoral area, and polling station levels. He urged them to work tirelessly to achieve continuity and ensure success for the party in the upcoming elections.
Boakye called on the teams to emulate the readiness and commitment demonstrated by presidential candidate Dr. Mahamadu Bawumia in taking the campaign to Ghanaians. He outlined specific targets for the teams and parliamentary candidates as part of the strategy for victory at the polls. Additionally, he warned of severe consequences for any actions that could undermine the progress of the 2024 campaign.
Dr. Ibrahim Anyars, the Deputy National Campaign Manager, highlighted the structure of the regional campaign teams, emphasizing the presence of an advisory team to address conflicts and misunderstandings. The Volta Regional Chairman of the NPP, Makafui Woanyah, expressed the region’s readiness to execute the campaign effectively and urged timely delivery of campaign logistics.
Volta Regional Minister Dr. Archibald Yao Letsa emphasized that the focus of the 2024 campaign should be on the party’s presidential candidate, Dr. Bawumia, rather than individual or group interests. “Let’s come together in unity towards achieving President Nana Addo Dankwa Akufo-Addo’s desire of handing over power to Dr. Bawumia, and that comes through sacrifice, unity, and hard work,” he said. Finally, the NPP parliamentary aspirant for North Dayi, Kudjo Attah, pledged full commitment from the campaign teams to ensure the continuity of political power.
