The Member of Parliament for Jomoro Constituency, Dorcas Affo-Toffey, and her team narrowly escaped a fatal accident at Komenda Junction on the Takoradi-Cape Coast-Accra Highway.
The incident occurred in the early hours of Thursday, August 29, 2024, as the MP and her entourage were returning to Accra after her campaign launch in Half Assini.
Reports indicates that at around 5:05 am, a heavy truck attempted a reckless overtake, nearly crushing the MP’s Ford Raptor vehicle.
The chaotic scene unfolded when two heavy trucks tried to overtake each other, with one of the drivers appearing to doze off and losing control of his vehicle.
In a desperate move, the driver of Madam Affo-Toffey’s vehicle swerved off the road into the nearby bush, averting what could have been a deadly collision.
Despite the severe damage to the vehicle, the MP and her three occupants survived the ordeal.
Madam Affo-Toffey and her team were rushed to the hospital, where they are currently receiving treatment.
Fortunately, all the occupants are in stable condition, offering a sigh of relief after the harrowing experience.
