Greater Accra Regional Coordinator of the New Force Movement, Samuel Ankomah Danso, has expressed confidence in the movement’s ability to achieve the $50 million fund target, as outlined by their leader Nana Kwame Bediako.
Bediako, an independent presidential aspirant, made the pledge during the New Force Movement’s virtual manifesto launch titled “12 Pillars for Economic Freedom” on Sunday, 1st September 2024.
The launch is part of his campaign ahead of the December 7th general election.
Speaking dring an interview with ABC News Ghana on Monday, 2nd September 2024, Danso highlighted that the funds could be generated through a streamlined process of offering citizenship to foreigners.
“They will pay, that’s how other nations are making money.
“When you manage your country well and make it attractive, people will definitely come in.
“It’s not something difficult to do because already they are coming,” he said, emphasizing that Ghana’s appeal could be monetized effectively.
He further explained that by formalizing the citizenship process and stipulating a payment structure, Ghana could attract people from neighboring countries like Nigeria and Niger.
“They wouldn’t be going through all these apian ways and running into the country anyhow. But once you streamline things and stipulate a certain amount for citizenship, they will come in. Ghana is a very warm place, and we all understand that,” Danso noted.
