Asante Kotoko head coach Abdul Karim Zito has refused to throw in the towel on the 2024/25 Ghana Premier League title race, expressing confidence that his side still has a fighting chance with two matches left in the season.
The Porcupine Warriors were held to a frustrating goalless draw against Bibiani Gold Stars in a fiercely contested Week 32 fixture on Sunday. The result, while disappointing, still leaves Kotoko in mathematical contention for the league title.
Speaking after the match, Coach Zito remained defiant and optimistic about his team’s prospects.
“Anything can happen. When it is over then I give up. But when it is not over, I cannot give up,” Zito told the media.
Kotoko currently occupy third place on the league table with 55 points, trailing current leaders Nations FC by five points. The Kumasi-based club needs to win their remaining two games and hope that Nations FC falter in their final fixtures to stand a chance of reclaiming the league crown.
As the Ghana Premier League nears its climax, fans of the Porcupine Warriors will be watching anxiously, hoping for a dramatic turnaround that could see their club lift the title once more.
