Naa Saaka Abuba, Chief of Kuba, emerged victorious in the North East Region’s Council of State election re-run on Monday.
The intense contest saw Abuba secure seven out of 12 votes, narrowly edging out Asabigi San Malunga Nasamu, who garnered five votes.
The election, initially deadlocked after both candidates secured six votes each last week, forced the Electoral Commission (EC) to schedule a re-run to determine the winner.
Addressing delegates after his hard-fought victory, Naa Abuba expressed gratitude for their trust in him.
“I deeply appreciate the confidence reposed in me, and I pledge to work tirelessly with all stakeholders to foster peace and development in our region,” he assured.
His triumph signals a new chapter of leadership, one he promises will be rooted in unity and progress for the people of the North East Region.
