The Electoral Commission (EC) of Ghana is set to commence the transportation of ballot papers for the December 7, 2024 elections to various regions starting today, November 14, 2024.
This announcement was outlined in a letter addressed to the General Secretaries of all political parties, dated November 13, and signed by Samuel Tettey, the Deputy Chairman in charge of Operations.
The letter conveyed the EC’s readiness to move forward with this critical phase of the electoral process.
“I bring you warm greetings from the Electoral Commission and trust that this letter finds you well. This comes to inform you that, the transportation of Ballot Papers to the various regions will start tomorrow, Thursday, 14th November, 2024,” Mr. Tettey’s statement read.
The EC has confirmed that all ballot papers will be secured in police custody upon arrival in the various regions.
They will remain under police protection until election day when they will be distributed to election officials under the supervision of party agents.
