The Electoral Commission (EC) has announced that all ballot papers for the 2024 general election will be fully deployed to all regions of the country by the end of today, November 26.
Chairperson Jean Mensa disclosed that ballot papers for 13 regions have already been distributed, with the remaining regions—Northern, Bono, and Bono East—set to receive theirs by this afternoon.
Speaking at a meeting with the National Elections Security Taskforce, Mensa assured the public of the EC’s preparedness for the December 7 polls.
She confirmed that all electoral registers have been disseminated and that preparations for the biometric verification devices, crucial for the electoral process, would be finalized by the weekend.
“We are near completion with our ballots for the presidential and parliamentary polls,” she stated, emphasizing the EC’s readiness.
Inspector-General of Police Dr. George Akuffo Dampare, representing the National Elections Security Taskforce, reiterated the commitment of security agencies to maintain peace throughout the election process.
“We will protect every Ghanaian and every stakeholder in this election to ensure that the election is executed to the benefit of Ghanaians,” he assured, highlighting the collaborative effort to safeguard a free, fair, and peaceful election.
