Preparations for the 2025 Kirin Cup are underway as eighteen Black Stars players have reported to camp at the ANA Crowne Plaza Hotel in Nagoya, Japan, to begin training ahead of Ghana’s upcoming international friendlies.
The early arrivals include two home-based players, Kelvin Nkrumah of Medeama SC and Prince Owusu, who were among the first to check in before being joined by sixteen international teammates on Tuesday.
Team officials have confirmed that Benjamin Asare, Mohammed Salisu, Prince Osei Owusu, and Christopher Bonsu Baah are expected to join the group on Wednesday to complete the full contingent.
Head coach Otto Addo and his technical staff are set to hold their first full training session later on Wednesday, as the team shifts focus toward the two-match series against Japan and South Korea.

Ghana will begin their campaign against Japan on Friday, November 14, in Nagoya before traveling to Seoul to face South Korea four days later.
The matches are designed to sharpen the Black Stars’ tactical approach and build team cohesion as part of their broader preparations for the 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifiers.
With new call-ups joining the squad, the Kirin Cup will also serve as an important test for Otto Addo to evaluate emerging talents and strengthen Ghana’s depth ahead of next year’s competitive fixtures.
