The Office of the Registrar of Companies (ORC) has announced the strike-off of 318 companies from Ghana’s official business register as part of efforts to strengthen regulatory compliance and improve the integrity of the corporate database.
In a press release issued on May 19, 2026, the ORC said the affected companies were listed in Volume 40 of the ORC Companies Bulletin published on May 15, 2026.
According to the Registrar, the action was taken pursuant to Section 289(3) of the Companies Act, 2019 (Act 992).
The statement explained that the companies will be struck off the register after three months unless cause is shown to the contrary before the expiration of the period.
“The names of the companies listed therein shall, unless cause is shown to the contrary, be struck off the register at the expiration of three months from the said date, and such companies shall thereupon stand dissolved,” the statement noted.
The release issued by the Registrar of Companies, Mrs. Maame Samma Peprah, described the exercise as part of its ongoing regulatory and compliance enforcement measures aimed at ensuring the continued accuracy, integrity and dependability of the Register of Companies.
The Office further reaffirmed its commitment to promoting good corporate governance and business transparency in Ghana.
“The ORC remains committed to ensuring compliance with Ghana’s corporate regulatory framework and to promoting high standards of corporate governance and business transparency,” the statement added.
The ORC urged affected stakeholders and members of the public seeking clarification or copies of the publication to contact its offices through its official communication channels.
