The Ghana national women’s team, the Black Queens, has commenced its 10-day training tour in Casablanca, Morocco, with 19 players reporting to camp on Monday.
The team, led by Head Coach Kim Lars Björkegren, is staying at the Ibis Hotel, where they will prepare for the upcoming FIFA February window. The technical team, home-based players, and management officials arrived in Casablanca on Sunday, February 16th, via Air Maroc.
Some foreign-based players have joined the camp, including those from the USA, Turkey, and Mexico. Jennifer Cudjoe, Azumah Bugre, and Grace Asantewaa are expected to arrive on Monday, bringing the total squad number to 22.
The team is still awaiting the arrival of Mary Amponsah, the current leading scorer in the Malta Guinness Women’s Premier League, who received a late call-up to replace the indisposed Alice Kusi.

The Ghana Football Association organized this training tour to keep the Black Queens in shape and allow Coach Björkegren to assess and build a strong team ahead of the Women’s African Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
As part of the training tour, the Black Queens will face the Atlas Lionesses of Morocco on February 21 at the Père Jègo Stadium, followed by a match against club side AS FAR Club three days later.
These friendlies will provide valuable experience for the team as they prepare for the challenges ahead.
