Ghana’s U-15 boys national team ended their impressive journey at the 2025 CAF African Schools Football Championship (ASFC) on a high note, claiming a 2-1 comeback victory over Uganda to win the bronze medal.
Under the guidance of head coach Kwaku Danso, the young Ghanaian side displayed grit and determination at the University of Ghana Stadium on Saturday, delighting home fans with a spirited performance.
Uganda, coming off a semifinal defeat to Senegal on Friday, April 25, struck first, taking advantage of a lapse in Ghana’s defence to open the scoring before halftime. The East Africans looked set to spoil the hosts’ medal hopes as they entered the break with a narrow 1-0 lead.
However, Ghana came back from the interval with renewed intensity and a clear sense of purpose. The boys turned the game around with two brilliantly executed goals, showcasing their attacking flair and resilience under pressure. The comeback was completed in thrilling fashion, sending the home supporters into raptures and ensuring Ghana secured a historic third-place finish.
The bronze medal marks Ghana’s first podium finish at the CAF African Schools Football Championship, following missed opportunities to participate in earlier editions.
