Ghana’s national team, the Black Stars, has unveiled a 28-man provisional squad as preparations intensify for the 2026 FIFA World Cup and an international friendly against Wales in Cardiff.
Head coach Carlos Queiroz named the squad, which comprises five goalkeepers, nine defenders, seven midfielders, and seven forwards. The team began camp on Monday, May 25, 2026, training at Dragon Park in Cardiff ahead of their friendly scheduled for Tuesday, June 2, 2026.

A major talking point is the return of experienced left-back Baba Abdul Rahman, who earns his first call-up since September 2023. The former Chelsea defender has been in strong form for PAOK in Greece, registering 35 appearances this season with three goals and three assists across all competitions.
Also back in the squad is Ernest Nuamah, who returns after a lengthy spell on the sidelines due to an anterior cruciate ligament injury that kept him out for over a year. He is now fully fit and available for selection.
Defensive reinforcement comes with the return of Abdul Mumin of Rayo Vallecano, who is also back from a long injury layoff. He is joined by Alidu Seidu of Stade Rennes, as well as Saint-Étienne midfielder Augustine Boakye.
Young Ajax Amsterdam prospect Paul Reverson has also been included in the squad for further assessment, with the technical team keen to evaluate his long-term potential following impressive performances at youth level.
The Black Stars will continue preparations in Cardiff as they build towards the friendly against Wales and their World Cup campaign in Canada, Mexico, and the United States.
Ghana have been drawn in Group L, where they will open their campaign against Panama in Toronto before facing England in Boston and Croatia in Philadelphia.
