Ghana’s entertainment industry has been thrown into mourning following reports of the death of actress and media personality Beverly Afaglo.
Her husband, Eugene Kwadwo Baah, popularly known as Choirmaster of the hiplife group Praye, confirmed the heartbreaking news in an emotional social media tribute on Saturday. The cause of death has not yet been disclosed.
In the touching post, Choirmaster described the late actress as the foundation of his joy and strength, expressing profound sorrow over her passing.
“My heart is shattered beyond words over the death of my beloved wife Beverly Afaglo,” he wrote. “It would have been just like four more days to your birthday, but I guess the Lord wanted to celebrate with you, so He called you.”
“You were my strength, my happiness, and the reason my life felt complete. Every moment with you was a blessing I will cherish forever.”
The musician also reflected on the memories they shared and the void her death has left behind.
“I am hearing your voice right now, cheering me up as always, my number one fan. I promise to take care and continue everything we planned and started. Until my last breath, you will remain in my heart forever. Sleep well my babe.”
Choirmaster further described his late wife as a “legend,” saying her death was not only painful for him and the family but also for the many fans and colleagues who admired her.
Meanwhile, fellow Praye member Praye Tietia confirmed in an interview with Graphic Showbiz that Beverly Afaglo had been battling an illness for several weeks.
According to him, relatives and close associates had remained hopeful about her recovery until news of her passing emerged. He added that the family is expected to release an official statement in the coming days.
Born on May 28, 1983, Beverly Afaglo became a familiar face in Ghanaian cinema through her performances in several popular movies and television productions.
She featured in films such as Return of Beyonce (2006), Crime to Christ (2007), Girls Connection (2008), Never Again (2010), Turn Me On (2010), The Game (2010), and Single Six (2011).
Her acting portfolio also included Equatorial Escape, Secret Burden, The King’s Bride, Total Exchange, PlayBoy, Big Girls Club, CEO, About to Wed, and A Northern Affair.
Beyond the screen, Beverly Afaglo was admired for her vibrant personality and strong connection with fans through her media appearances and social media presence.
Her reported passing comes only days before what would have marked her birthday, deepening the grief among loved ones, colleagues, and supporters across the country.
