The Government of Ghana and Organised Labour have officially concluded negotiations on the 2025 Single Spine Salary Structure (SSSS) Base Pay, agreeing to a 10% salary increase across the board.
This decision, finalized through the Public Services Joint Standing Negotiating Committee, takes effect from January 2025 to December 2025.
The agreement was confirmed in an official statement released on February 20, 2025.
The statement was jointly signed by representatives of the Fair Wages and Salaries Commission, the Ministry of Labour, Jobs and Employment, the Ministry of Finance, the Secretary-General of the Trades Union Congress (TUC), and the Chairman of the Forum.
This development marks the conclusion of negotiations between the government and workers’ unions within the public service sector. The salary increment is expected to provide some relief to public sector workers amid the rising cost of living and inflationary pressures in the country.
The wage adjustment reflects the government’s commitment to ensuring fair compensation for public sector employees while balancing economic realities. Organised Labour has welcomed the agreement, though some workers continue to advocate for further salary adjustments to match the increasing cost of living.
