President John Dramani Mahama is set to officially swear in seven newly confirmed justices of the Supreme Court today, July 3, 2025, at a formal ceremony at the Jubilee House.
The event will see the President administer the oath of office to the judges whose nominations were recently endorsed by Parliament, following weeks of vetting and deliberations.
Parliament gave its approval to the nominees on June 24 after a majority vote, despite concerns raised by the Minority.
The Appointments Committee, chaired by Bernard Ahiafor, presented its report recommending the seven nominees:
Justice Senyo Dzamefe
Justice Sir Dennis Dominic Adjei
Justice Gbeil Simon Suurbaareh
Justice Philip Bright Mensah
Justice Janapare Adzua Bartels-Kodwo
Justice Hafisata Amaleboba
Justice Kweku Tawiah Ackaah-Boafo
Their appointments are expected to strengthen the judiciary’s capacity to handle its growing docket.
