Manchester City have officially completed the signing of highly-rated teenage defender Vitor Reis from Brazilian club Palmeiras in a deal worth £29.6 million.
The 19-year-old has committed to a four-and-a-half-year contract with the reigning Premier League champions.
Reis, a right-footed central defender, has already gained significant experience, making 22 appearances for Palmeiras and representing Brazil’s Under-17 national team nine times.
Expressing his excitement about the move, Reis said, “I’m excited to join Manchester City, one of the biggest clubs in the world. Everyone has seen the amazing achievements in recent seasons, and I want to make my mark as we seek more trophies.”

The young defender also highlighted the opportunity to work under Pep Guardiola as a dream come true for any aspiring footballer.
“Working with Pep Guardiola is something every young player wants to do, and I know he can help me to develop into the best I can be,” he added.
Reis is confident about adapting to life at City, citing the club’s history of successfully integrating Brazilian players into their squad.
“City also have a lot of experience of working with Brazilians, and joining the likes of Ederson and Savinho in the squad will be a big help to me,” Reis concluded.
The addition of Vitor Reis further strengthens Manchester City’s defensive depth, as the club continues its quest for dominance in domestic and European competitions.
