Four people have been killed, and six others injured in a violent attack at the Nanik and Nganme Gberuk communities in the Bunkpurugu-Yunyoo district of the North East Region.
The incident, which occurred on Friday, February 28, is believed to be linked to a long-standing chieftaincy dispute.
Armed assailants stormed the villages in the early hours, setting multiple homes on fire and causing widespread destruction.
Among the victims was a Mamprusi man, a teacher in the Nanik community, who tragically lost his life after being trapped inside his burning house.
His charred remains were later discovered, with images of his body circulating on social media.
Some speculated that his death was connected to the Mamprusi-Bimoba conflict in Bawku, but his family has dismissed these claims, insisting he was an innocent victim caught in the violence.
A family member of the deceased, speaking to Channel One News, described the devastating loss and urged authorities to take swift action to prevent further bloodshed.
He also advised workers and residents in the affected communities to exercise caution and consider relocating temporarily until calm is restored.
The victim was laid to rest earlier today, as security forces intensify efforts to restore peace in the region.
