The management of Ghanaian dancehall artiste Shatta Wale has said the safety and well-being of fans informed the difficult decision to cancel the 2026 edition of ShattaFest UK following a serious incident reported outside the event venue.

In a statement released after the incident, the management described the development as heartbreaking, stressing that the decision to call off the concert was taken with public safety as the foremost priority.

“Following reports of a serious incident outside the venue, the difficult decision was made to cancel the event. Nothing is more important than the safety and well-being of every single person who came to celebrate music, unity, and love,” the statement said.

The organisers also expressed sympathy to everyone affected by the incident, noting that they were deeply saddened by reports of injuries and the alleged loss of lives.

While awaiting official confirmation from the relevant authorities, the management said its thoughts and prayers remain with the victims, their families, friends and everyone impacted by the tragedy.

“Our hearts are with everyone who has been affected by this tragic situation. We are deeply saddened by the reports of injuries and the alleged loss of lives,” the statement added.

According to the organisers, Shatta Wale has always used his performances to bring joy and unite fans, making the unfortunate turn of events particularly devastating.

“To know that what was meant to be a night of celebration has become a moment of pain is truly devastating,” the statement read.

The management further appealed to the public and the media to refrain from spreading unverified information while investigations continue.

“We respectfully ask the public and members of the media to avoid speculation while the appropriate authorities conduct their investigations. We trust that the truth will be established through the proper processes, and we encourage everyone to rely on verified information.”

The statement also acknowledged the swift response of emergency services, security personnel, medical teams, venue staff and all individuals who assisted those affected.

Management thanked fans who had travelled to attend the event for their patience and understanding during what it described as an incredibly difficult time.

It further assured the public that Shatta Wale and the entire Shatta Movement family would cooperate fully with the relevant authorities and event partners as investigations continue.

Concluding the statement, management said the immediate priority is supporting those affected by the incident, rather than the concert.

“This is not the outcome anyone wished for. Today, our focus is not on a concert—it is on the people whose lives have been affected. We ask everyone to keep the victims, their loved ones, and all those impacted in your prayers.”
