Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, former spokesperson for the Akufo-Addo administration, has called on the Public Services Commission to thoroughly vet the credentials of Acting CEOs and Managing Directors.
In a thought-provoking post on his X platform, Palgrave wrote, “Some people who have been appointed as Ag. CEOs/MDs may not qualify even though appointed by the President.”
Stressing the importance of integrity, he urged the Commission to disapprove of any appointees with dishonest CVs and ensure accountability in public sector leadership.
“Integrity is key in the entrance processes,” he wrote, emphasizing the need to reject appointees with dishonest credentials.
With a deep interest in public sector governance, Palgrave warned against overlooking this responsibility, adding that the Commission’s task is vital to Ghana’s progress.

In Ghana we have the Public Services Commission that is mandated under Article 196 of the Constitution to among other things to “REGULATE ENTRANCE…”- emphasis mine.
The Article states that, “The Public Services Commission shall have such powers and exercise such supervisory, regulatory and consultative functions as Parliament shall, by law, prescribe, including as may be applicable, the supervision and regulation of entrance and promotion examinations, recruitment, appointment into or promotions within the Public Services and the establishment of guidelines on the terms and conditions of employment in the public services.
I have the utmost trust, respect and integrity of the commissioners at the Service. I have also noted that the Government of President
@JDMahama
is gradually taking shape that will give him the needed support to deliver on his mandate for the Ghanaian people.
With my interest in the Ghanaian public sector space and especially as I focused my PhD thesis on the Ghanaian public sector,I want to admonish the Commission to SCRUTINIZE all CVs especially some people who have been appointed as Ag. CEOs/MDs who may not qualify even though appointed by the President.
Integrity is key in the entrance processes and if anyone is dishonest with the content of their CURRICULUM VITAE – it is the mandate of the commission to disapprove their appointment and respectfully ask the President for a replacement.
Indeed the task ahead of the commission is Great. But I wish you all the best and a happy new year.
Good evening.
