Former Government Spokesperson on Governance and Security, Dr. Palgrave Boakye-Danquah, has accused President John Mahama of misleading Ghanaians about the progress of the Agenda 111 hospital projects.
Speaking on Prime News on ABC News GH, he debunked the President’s claim that only one hospital was completed under the previous NPP administration.
“We completed and commissioned three Agenda 111 district hospitals, fully functional, that must be operationalized by the government of the day,” he stated, emphasizing that the President’s remarks amounted to “presidential dishonesty.”
Dr. Boakye-Danquah defended the NPP’s achievements, insisting that the projects were not abandoned but rather awaiting operationalization.
He also criticized the President for failing to properly address illegal mining (galamsey) in his State of the Nation Address (SONA).
His remarks come after President Mahama told Parliament on Thursday that the NPP government, which launched the ambitious Agenda 111 project, had only managed to complete one hospital, which remains non-functional.
The Agenda 111 initiative was introduced to ensure equitable access to healthcare by constructing district hospitals across the country.
