Dr Yaw Osei Adutwum, the current Member of Parliament for Bosomtwe and Minister for Education, has officially filed his nomination to contest in the 2024 parliamentary election.
The New Patriotic Party (NPP) candidate submitted his forms on Monday at the Electoral Commission (EC) office in Kuntanase.
The filing, accompanied by several key party officials and supporters, marks his bid for a third consecutive term as MP. Among the notable figures present were District Chief Executive Joseph Kwasi Asumin and Constituency Chairman Aikens Addai-Poku.
The Electoral Commission’s Returning Officer for the Bosomtwe Constituency, Mr Lawrence Essien, received Dr Adutwum’s completed forms after inspecting the necessary documents and bank draft.
The submission secures his place as the NPP parliamentary candidate for the upcoming election.
Adutwum’s popularity in the constituency has been a key asset for the party in previous elections, and his campaign this time around will also focus on garnering support for the NPP’s presidential candidate, Dr Mahamoud Bawumia.
Speaking to the media after submitting his forms, Dr Adutwum expressed gratitude to the NPP leadership in Bosomtwe for their continued trust.
He pledged to work hard to retain his seat and boost votes for Bawumia to ensure the party’s victory.
Urging party supporters to remain united, he emphasized the importance of strategic planning to secure a win over the opposition National Democratic Congress (NDC) in the 2024 elections.
