Senior Analyst at Global Info Analytics, Salam Nsiah, has projected a fiercely contested outcome in the upcoming parliamentary rerun in the Ablekuma North Constituency.
Speaking to ABC Midday News on July 3, Mr. Nsiah said, “Ablekuma North is very tight. It is originally an NPP Constituency,” but emphasized that this particular election has narrowed the margins significantly, making it one of the most competitive in recent times.
His comments follow the Electoral Commission’s announcement of a rerun in 19 polling stations within the constituency.
The decision stems from disputes surrounding the credibility of results from the December 2024 elections.
The National Democratic Congress (NDC) had raised concerns about the use of scanned Pink Sheets allegedly submitted by the New Patriotic Party (NPP) instead of the official Electoral Commission-issued documents during collation.
The rerun is scheduled for Friday, July 11, 2025.
The Electoral Commission says the move is to “uphold electoral transparency and public confidence in the democratic process.”
All political parties, security agencies, and election observers are expected to participate to ensure a peaceful and credible outcome.
