President John Dramani Mahama has officially handed over the Operation Recover All Loot (ORAL) Committee’s final report to the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice, Dr. Dominic Ayine, with firm instructions to commence immediate investigations.
Speaking at the Jubilee House during the submission of the report, Mahama emphasized that those implicated in corruption-related offenses must face justice.
“I have handed over the report to the Attorney-General and Minister of Justice. And I give him firm instructions to commence immediate investigations into the cases reported in here with the view to prosecuting anyone found liable for corruption or related offenses,” he declared.
The ORAL Committee, chaired by Okudzeto Ablakwa, received a total of 2,417 complaints of suspected corruption, comprising 1,493 calls and 924 emails. Presenting the report, Ablakwa stated that the overwhelming public response vindicates Mahama’s leadership in tackling corruption.
The President reiterated his commitment to good governance and sent a strong warning to those who defraud the state.
“For those who think they can defraud the state and escape justice, let this serve as a strong warning—Ghana is no longer a safe haven for corruption,” Mahama warned.
Mahama further called on all Ghanaians to support the fight against corruption and uphold accountability.
“Together we will build a Ghana that is just, transparent and prosperous for generations to come.”
