Private legal practitioner Kwame Adofo has raised serious concerns about the impartiality of the five-member committee tasked with handling the Chief Justice’s removal case.
Speaking on ABC in the Morning, Adofo cautioned that sensitive matters such as this must be overseen by neutral individuals to ensure a fair and lawful outcome, rather than being influenced by personal or political agendas.
“I also have concerns with the composition of the panel,” he stated, highlighting potential conflicts within the committee’s makeup.
Adofo specifically pointed to the inclusion of Daniel Yaw Domelevo, a former Auditor General who previously had a contentious case with the former government.
He argued that Domelovo’s involvement in deciding the fate of the Chief Justice, who is perceived to have denied him a prior opportunity, raises questions of bias.
“You can see that there is an interest here,” Adofo warned, expressing skepticism that the committee’s verdict would represent an objective assessment of the allegations against the Chief Justice.
