Economist Dr. Ebo Duncan has urged the government to ensure that the 2025 budget, set to be presented on March 11, remains transparent and devoid of political influence.
Speaking on ABC’s morning show, he emphasized that the budget should focus on addressing the real economic challenges facing the country rather than serving partisan interests.
According to him, a clear and honest financial plan would help ease the economic hardship in Ghana and build public confidence in the government’s fiscal policies.
“I expect that the budget should be a budget that will really help reduce hardship in Ghana,” Dr. Duncan stated.
He further stressed the importance of realistic projections, cautioning against the inclusion of overly ambitious policies meant to score political points.
“It must be a frank budget,” he insisted, adding that the focus should be on practical solutions that can be achieved rather than promises that may not materialize.
