The Centre for Conflict Resolution-Ghana (CENCOR) has urged the government to adopt a standardized approach to presidential staff appointments, emphasizing the need for transparency and consistency.
Director of Operations at the Centre for Constitutional Order (CENCOR), Rockson Konde, stated that the issue should not be reduced to political propaganda but rather addressed with clear criteria to ensure effective governance.
His remarks come in response to criticism from Minority Leader Alexander Afenyo-Markin, who questioned President John Mahama’s commitment to a lean government.
While acknowledging that Mahama’s appointments have been deliberate, Konde stressed that a structured approach would eliminate unnecessary political debates.
He called for a system that prioritizes efficiency over partisan concerns, ensuring that government staffing meets national development needs.
