The Government of Ghana has officially settled all outstanding arrears owed to the Social Security and National Insurance Trust (SSNIT), marking a significant step toward reinforcing public trust in the nation’s pension administration.
This decisive move, according to officials, signals a renewed commitment to the financial health of SSNIT and the broader protection of Ghana’s working population.
It also underscores the government’s resolve to uphold the dignity of pensioners by ensuring timely and consistent contributions to the Trust.
The payment comes amid growing public calls for greater accountability and responsible management of pension funds, especially at a time when the newly inaugurated SSNIT Board has been tasked with safeguarding the future security of contributors under increased scrutiny.
