Health Analyst Samuel Arthur has urged the government to revise its budget to address the concerns of striking nurses across the country.
He emphasized that failure to do so could jeopardize Ghana’s health system.
Speaking in an interview with ABC News Ghana, Mr. Arthur stressed the urgency of the situation, warning of dire consequences if the government continues to delay action.
“We need to mend it in the budget,” he said. “Take that extra responsibility.”
Mr. Arthur’s remarks come at a time when nurses have laid down their tools over long-standing grievances, including poor remuneration and inadequate working conditions.
He cautioned that government inaction at this stage is not an option.
“They should not go there at all,” he said firmly, referring to any further delays or negotiations that do not yield results.
