Inspector General of Police (IGP) COP Christian Tetteh Yohuno has reconstituted the Police Management Board to enhance the operational control and management of the Ghana Police Service.
A statement issued on March 19, 2025, confirmed the restructuring, which includes top-ranking officers assigned to key departments.
The newly formed board comprises COP Maame Yaa Tiwa Addo-Danquah as Director-General of Research and Planning, COP Paul Manly Awini as Head of Service Workshop in Accra, and COP Daniel Kwame Afriyie as Director-General of Private Security Operations, among others.
The appointments are expected to improve strategic oversight and law enforcement efficiency across the country.
COP Yohuno, who was appointed IGP by President John Mahama on March 13, 2025, and sworn in the following day, succeeds Dr. George Akuffo Dampare.
President Mahama, during the swearing-in at Jubilee House, tasked him with reinforcing public safety and strengthening law enforcement.
The reconstitution of the management board aligns with these directives, ensuring a robust leadership team capable of addressing security challenges.
The restructuring also includes appointments of regional commanders and departmental heads, with a focus on intelligence, investigations, patrols, and public affairs.
