Dr. Seyram Kawor, a financial analyst at the University of Cape Coast has urged the government to move beyond discussions and begin implementing the tough policies needed to stabilize Ghana’s economy.
Speaking on Prime News on ABC News GH, he stressed that merely identifying economic problems is not enough.
“It is time to implement those tough policies. There are people who will be happy and those who won’t, but no excuses from them will be acceptable,” he stated.
He further emphasized the need for government discipline and accountability in economic governance.
“The solution is there; we know the problems, let’s start the implementation,” he said, echoing calls made by Finance Minister Ato Forson at the National Economic Dialogue.
Dr. Kawor maintained that swift and decisive action is required to prevent further economic decline.
The dialogue, which concluded on Tuesday, March 4, featured key ministers, institutional heads, and industry leaders discussing critical economic reforms.
Among the notable contributions, Energy Minister John Jinapor highlighted the inefficiency of Ghana’s energy sector and called for an urgent transition from liquid fuel to gas.
