Founder of Action Chapel International, Archbishop Nicholas Duncan-Williams, has made a passionate appeal to President John Dramani Mahama to champion the creation of a long-term national development vision for Ghana.
Addressing the nation at the State House during the first National Day of Prayer and Thanksgiving on July 1, 2025, the Archbishop stressed that Ghana’s future depends on a unified national agenda that guides all governments.
“We need a national development plan, a national vision. A national agenda that compels all stakeholders to follow that agenda, that our resources will be channeled to that one common goal,” he stated.
He called on President Mahama to “reset Ghana” and steer the country away from politically fragmented governance toward a more purpose-driven and legacy-oriented administration.
Duncan-Williams emphasized that real transformation would come only through coordinated national efforts, not partisan pledges.
His message resonated with many who gathered for the interfaith event, which included both Christian and Muslim prayers across the country’s 16 regions and 261 districts.
Earlier in his address, the Archbishop had also challenged the President to tackle Ghana’s economic decline, particularly urging him to make the cedi thrive under his tenure.
Duncan-Williams warned that without a comprehensive long-term strategy, initiatives to curb youth unemployment, stabilize the cedi, and reduce migration pressures would remain unsustainable.
