President John Dramani Mahama has praised the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, and the Police Management Board (POMAB) for what he described as their quiet but highly effective work in combating crime and driving reforms within the Ghana Police Service.
Speaking at the commissioning of the Odumase Krobo Laasi Divisional Police Headquarters, the President said the leadership of the Police Service had been instrumental in strengthening the country’s security architecture, particularly in the fight against armed robbery and organised criminal networks.
He commended the ongoing reforms and operational strategies being implemented by the Police Administration, noting that they were yielding positive results in improving law enforcement and public safety nationwide.
“I also want to take this opportunity to commend the Inspector-General of Police and the Police Management Board, his leadership team, for their dedication to transforming the Police Service,” the President said.
He further added: “This Police Management team has been quiet, they don’t make too much noise but they are very effective”.
On his part, the Inspector-General of Police, Christian Tetteh Yohuno, expressed gratitude to the President for his continued support towards strengthening Ghana’s security system.
He highlighted government’s investment in retooling the Police Service, particularly the provision of armoured vehicles, which he said had significantly enhanced operational capacity and helped in foiling several robbery attempts.
Mr. Yohuno reaffirmed the commitment of the Police Administration to sustain its crime-fighting efforts and ensure the safety and security of citizens across the country.
