The New Patriotic Party (NPP) in the Tatale-Sanguli constituency has suspended more than 50 members for conduct deemed detrimental to the party during the 2024 presidential and parliamentary elections.
The announcement, made on January 15, 2025, cited violations of Article 3, Clauses (9)(1) and (7)(1) of the party’s constitution, which forbid members from supporting independent candidates or opposing official party nominees.
Constituency leadership accused the suspended members of collaborating with opposing parties, particularly the National Democratic Congress (NDC), and spreading falsehoods that influenced the election outcome.
Among those suspended are notable figures such as former Constituency Chairman Kwesi Npong, former Secretary Peter Sandol, and ex-Communication Officer Napari Prosper.
The leadership emphasized unity and adherence to party principles, stating, “Their actions violated the principles and values of our party, warranting immediate suspension.” Additionally, the resignation of Godfrey Napari Wajah, Secretary of the Council of Elders, was acknowledged.
