The much-anticipated National Economic Dialogue (NED) kicks off today, March 3, 2025, at the Accra International Conference Centre.
The two-day forum, spearheaded by President John Dramani Mahama, seeks to address Ghana’s economic challenges and outline a path toward sustainable growth.
Under the theme “Resetting Ghana: Building the Economy We Want Together,” President Mahama is expected to deliver a keynote address presenting his administration’s vision for revitalizing the economy and implementing key reforms.
The dialogue will bring together key stakeholders from various sectors, including private businesses, academia, public institutions, and civil society organizations.
The discussions will focus on crucial economic areas such as macroeconomic stability, structural reforms, infrastructure development, and private sector-led growth.
The forum is also expected to highlight governance issues, particularly in tackling corruption and restoring investor confidence in Ghana’s economy.
With the nation grappling with economic difficulties, the government hopes the dialogue will lead to practical, consensus-driven solutions.
The outcomes of the discussions are expected to serve as a roadmap for policy implementation, guiding Ghana’s economic decisions in the coming years.
As the dialogue unfolds, many Ghanaians are eager to see whether it will result in tangible reforms or remain another high-level discussion with little real impact.
