Frank Davies, legal counsel for former Finance Minister Ken Ofori-Atta, has lashed out at the Office of the Special Prosecutor (OSP), accusing the agency of employing underhanded tactics and pursuing personal vendettas.
In an exclusive interview with ABC News GH TV following the OSP’s re-declaration of Ken Ofori-Atta as a fugitive of justice, Davies did not hold back.
“The OSP should stop playing tricks and stop playing double standards,” he said, warning the Special Prosecutor, Kissi Agyebeng, against misusing the authority of his office.
“He should not use that office as an avenue for personal score-settling. He holds a public office and he should hold it with some candour,” Davies added.
The comments come on the heels of the OSP’s announcement that Ofori-Atta failed to appear for questioning, prompting the issuance of an INTERPOL Red Notice for his arrest.
Davies defended his client, stating that the medical excuse provided had been formally communicated and backed by documentation. “He cannot run away from the evidence,” Davies insisted, hinting that legal recourse could soon reveal who is truly misleading the public.
