The Chairman of The Church of Pentecost, Apostle Eric Nyamekye, has stressed that Ghana’s deep-rooted religious culture must be matched with practical leadership and responsible citizenship to drive national development.
Speaking during the National Prayer and Thanksgiving Day held on July 1, Apostle Nyamekye said, “Religion alone will not bring us that prosperity. We are a nation that is highly religious, but without righteousness, we will not prosper our nation.”
He urged both leaders and citizens to move beyond religious rituals and commit to integrity and accountability in all aspects of national life.
He added that Ghana’s future lies in the hands of its people and that transformation will require more than prayer and worship.
“We are looking forward to a better future. And that future can be created by you and I,” he noted.
His remarks formed part of a broader call by religious leaders at the event for a reset of national values, ahead of the December elections.
The National Prayer Day was marked by unity among faith groups and a renewed push for leadership that delivers results through action, not just words.
