Turkish energy solutions company Synergy Co. Ltd. has expressed its commitment to investing in Ghana by locally producing solar and smart meter technologies.
This pledge was made during a meeting with the Minister for Energy and Green Transition, John Abdulai Jinapor, on Tuesday, March 11.
With 48 years of experience in the energy sector, Synergy aims to establish a manufacturing plant in Ghana, capable of producing up to 12 million electrical meters annually.
These meters will feature anti-tampering technology to help reduce energy losses and improve efficiency in the country’s electricity distribution system.
As part of its investment, Synergy has also proposed the creation of a training school to equip Ghanaians with the necessary skills in solar panel and meter production, fostering local expertise in renewable energy.
The company has requested government support to integrate its products into the Ghanaian market.
Minister Jinapor welcomed the initiative, praising Synergy’s commitment to local manufacturing and skills development. He reiterated the government’s dedication to promoting Ghana’s green transition, emphasizing that job creation and local content remain top priorities.
