The Minority in Parliament has rejected claims by former President John Dramani Mahama that his administration resolved the power crisis, known as “dumsor,” in 2016.
Addressing the press on Monday, March 3, former Finance Minister Dr. Mohammed Amin Adam challenged Mahama to release a load-shedding timetable, as parts of the country still experience intermittent power cuts.
Mahama, in his first State of the Nation Address (SONA) of his second term, blamed the current energy crisis on a huge sector debt.
However, Dr. Amin Adam dismissed this argument, insisting that the previous administration, under President Nana Akufo-Addo, had successfully stabilized power supply.
The Minority maintains that Mahama’s claims are misleading, as dumsor remains a pressing issue for many Ghanaians.
