The New Patriotic Party (NPP) has confirmed that its post-election report, compiled after the 2024 general elections, will not be made public. According to the party’s Director of Communications, Richard Ahiagbah, the report is strictly an internal document intended to guide reforms and reposition the party for electoral victory in 2028.
Speaking in an interview after a party meeting in Accra on Wednesday, April 16, Ahiagbah clarified that although the findings are important, they are not meant for public consumption.
“I don’t think so. It is an internal document that will be used to aid the party’s reform process and help position us for victory in 2028,” he stated.
“So I can guarantee you, even though it is not expressly stated, it is clearly implied that the document is not meant for public consumption,” he added.
The confidential report was compiled by a committee chaired by former Speaker of Parliament, Prof. Mike Oquaye, and provides a detailed review of the party’s performance, challenges, and structural shortcomings during the 2024 campaign.
While the full contents of the report remain under wraps, Ahiagbah assured party supporters that key takeaways will be incorporated into ongoing reforms and communicated in ways that preserve confidentiality.
“There’s a way our supporters will go about it that will not complicate it. So it’s just a working document. It’s a document that the party is going to work to. Most of the recommendations are key in what we do now,” he explained.
The post-election review is expected to influence significant strategic shifts within the NPP as the party prepares to mount a strong comeback in the next general elections.
Despite mounting interest from political observers and the general public, the NPP remains firm on keeping the report within party structures.
